The 2012 GOLDEN Celebration

When the world says, "Give up", HOPE whispers, "Try it one more time".

For the past nine years it has been my pleasure to visit your cities, Vancouver (8), Calgary (7), Montreal (7), Edmonton (6), Ottawa (6), Winnipeg (2), Washington DC (1), and Halifax (1). It was an honor to walk with you through the streets of your neighborhoods and raise thousands of dollars for your Cancer foundations.

In 2012, I’m inviting you to my back yard playground, TORONTO where that first BOLD step was taken 10 years ago. I’m inviting you to take on a bigger challenge. Walk in your city and then come walk in Toronto and help us celebrate not only the 10th Anniversary of the event and when that first bold step was taken but to walk one more time to also help celebrate my 50th event and HOPE-fully not my last step as I cross the finish line on Sept 9th 2012.

Please note, if your city has the event (Alberta and Montreal) please participate there first in order to participate in Toronto. It is NOT my intention to take away from your home event.

Those in Ottawa, Halifax, Winnipeg and Vancouver come out for 60km one more time.

Your fundraising minimum goal for Toronto is $2012.50 More is definitely encouraged and accepted.

If you can’t take part in Toronto please join me in Alberta (Calgary) or Montreal. Failing that please have it in your heart to consider donating $50.10 or $10.50 - your choice. You can also adjust the decimal point and add zeros.

If you were on a team in Toronto please encourage your TEAM to participate again. If they have disbanded, we welcome you with OPEN WINGS to join the BUTTERFLY OF HOPE. Bring along your friends.

With thanks to all of you for participating in the past ... our crew members and sweeps, our 1 day walkers and the 2 days walkers I look forward to seeing all of you HOPE-fully one more time in 2012.

To current members of the BUTTERFLY OF HOPE team, thank you for being a part of this monumental year. Continue to create the excitement and keep the movement you have created across this country going. Recruit your friends and family. Encourage people to donate at www.endcancer.ca.
